Revox JUST Niacinamide 10% Review

SKINFACE CARE

illy

My honest experience with a high-percentage niacinamide serum

I’ve always had a good relationship with niacinamide.
At low percentages, it was one of those ingredients my skin understood well. It helped calm redness, keep my skin balanced, and made everything feel more stable over time. So when I came across Revox 10% Niacinamide, and especially because the brand is affordable and easy to find, I thought it was worth trying.

First Impression & Packaging

The packaging is simple and practical.
The bottle is dark, which is good for protecting the formula, and the dropper is easy to use. It feels clean and straightforward, nothing flashy, just functional. For the price point, it feels well-made and reliable.

Texture & Application

The texture is very light, almost like water.
It spreads easily, absorbs quickly, and leaves no sticky or heavy feeling behind. On the skin, it feels comfortable at first. No immediate burning, no strong sensation, and no fragrance.

From a texture point of view, it’s actually very pleasant to use.

My Skin Experience Over Time

At the beginning, everything felt fine.
My skin looked soft, hydrated, and balanced. The serum did its job in terms of absorption and comfort.

But after continued use, small pimples started appearing. Nothing extreme, but enough to notice. And this is where my previous experience with niacinamide helped me understand what was happening.

I’ve used niacinamide before at lower percentages with no problem. My skin liked it. This time, the reaction wasn’t random. It felt like my skin was being pushed too hard.

The issue wasn’t the formula quality.
It was the percentage.

About the 10% Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a very good ingredient overall.
It helps calm the skin, supports the skin barrier, and balances oil production. That’s why it’s everywhere.

But the difference between a good experience and a bad one often comes down to how much of it is used.

At low percentages, niacinamide is usually gentle and supportive. It helps without stressing the skin, especially for sensitive, acne-prone, or reactive skin.

At high percentages, like 10%, it becomes much more intense. Some skins tolerate it, but many don’t. Instead of calming the skin, it can cause irritation, small breakouts, or barrier stress.

Higher doesn’t mean better.
With niacinamide, more can actually overwhelm the skin instead of helping it.

In simple words:
Low amounts support the skin.
High amounts can push it too far.

Ingredients & Formula

The ingredient list itself is very good.
The serum is fragrance-free, oil-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, and gluten-free. There’s nothing harsh or unnecessary in the formula.

It also helps keep the skin hydrated and soft, which shows that the base of the product is well designed.

This is why I don’t see it as a bad product. The formula is clean and thoughtfully made. My only issue is that the 10% niacinamide concentration is simply too high for most skin types.

Skin Barrier & Sensitivity

With continued use, I could feel my skin becoming more reactive.
Small pimples appeared, and my skin felt like it needed a break. Even if you don’t usually have acne-prone skin, this percentage can still trigger reactions.

For sensitive skin especially, this level of niacinamide can easily lead to irritation or barrier imbalance.

How I Would Use It (If You Still Want to Try)
If someone insists on using this serum, I would recommend:
  • Using it only a few times a week

  • Applying a very small amount

  • Pairing it with a simple, calming routine

  • Avoiding other strong actives at the same time

But personally, I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Who This Product Is For
This serum may work for you if:
  • Your skin is very resilient and not easily irritated

  • You already tolerate high percentages of niacinamide well

  • You prefer strong formulations and minimalist routines

  • You don’t have a compromised or sensitive skin barrier

Who It’s Not For
This is probably not for you if:
  • You have sensitive or reactive skin

  • You are prone to breakouts or barrier damage

  • You’re new to niacinamide

  • You believe higher percentages mean better results

  • You want a calming, everyday serum

What I Liked
  • Very affordable

  • Clean ingredient list

  • Lightweight, fast-absorbing texture

  • No fragrance or alcohol

  • Leaves the skin soft and hydrated at first

What I Didn’t Like or Limits
  • 10% niacinamide is unnecessary for most skin types

  • Caused small breakouts over time

  • Can irritate or stress the skin barrier

  • Not beginner-friendly

Final Thoughts

Revox 10% Niacinamide is not a bad product.
In fact, the formula itself is well made and thoughtfully designed. But the concentration is simply too high for most people.

Niacinamide works best with moderation.
Pushing the percentage doesn’t push the results. It often pushes the skin instead.

For me, this was a reminder that gentle, balanced formulations usually give better long-term results than strong, aggressive ones.
